A 45-year-old caregiver has been found guilty of sexual offending against three boys in the Hauraki region.
The man admitted in Tauranga District Court yesterday six charges of sexual connection with a young person. He was convicted on further charges of indecent assault on a young person, sexual conduct with
a young person and wilful ill treatment of a child.
Detective Simon Everson of the Waihi CIB said the charges dated between 2003 and last year.
"The offender had been a caregiver to one of his victims and the others had been visitors at his address on a regular basis and his offending was a serious breach of the trust he was held in," Mr Everson said today.
"We hope this result will encourage other persons who have been the victim of sexual abuse to have the confidence to come forward to police."
