A man has been arrested and charged with the murder of Tauranga couple Toni-Anne Nathan and Mikaere O'Sullivan, who were allegedly "executed" under a Bay of Plenty bridge with a shotgun.
The couple's bodies were found a week ago under the Wairoa River Bridge, near Te Puna.
At a press conference this afternoon inquiry head Detective Senior Sergeant Greg Turner said a 40-year-old man had been arrested at a Rotorua house at 5am today.
The man will appear in the Tauranga District Court tomorrow morning.
Police still want to hear from any who may have seen either of two cars around the time of the couple's deaths.
One is a 1990 white Nissan Laurel with the number plate TQ2116 and the other is a blue Ford Fairmont Elite which has a stolen plate SR8530
