A teenager has appeared in court on charges relating to a sword attack south of Auckland yesterday.
The 19-year-old was granted interim name suppression in the Manukau District Court.
In an unusual ruling, the court suppressed what he is charged with as well as all information relating to the case not already released by police.
Police said the man allegedly injured two women in the attack in Paerata about 1.30pm.
They were called to a domestic incident in the semi-rural area, but the man allegedly fled the scene in a vehicle.
Officers spotted him entering the motorway at Papakura and he allegedly led them on a chase through south Auckland.
