A 52-year-old man has been charged with the murder of John Murray Morton whose body was found in the back of a boat in Nelson two weeks ago.
His body was found in a white boat at Nelson Haven on QE2 Drive on August 4.
Police earlier said he had been subjected to a serious assault, and he was not the owner of the boat that he was found on.
Police said the man charged with his murder was a local man and was known to Morton.
Detective Inspector Paul Borrell said a team of detectives, analysts, forensic scientists and fingerprint experts, had worked tirelessly on the investigation.
