KEY POINTS:
A man has been arrested after a four-month-old baby girl was hospitalised with head injuries in Gisborne yesterday.
Sergeant Jo Chalmers of Gisborne police said the man was charged with injuring the child and her mother at the suburb of Kaiti, about 8.30pm.
The prognosis of the baby girl was unsure, Ms Chalmers said.
The mother suffered minor injuries.
Ms Chalmers said the man would appear in the Gisborne District Court today.
