A man charged with the murder of a 50-year-old woman whose body was found on Auckland's North Shore on Good Friday is due to appear in court today.
Police launched a homicide inquiry after the body of Suzanne Marie McSweeney was found at a property in Anvil Road, in the industrial sector of Silverdale.
They also found a seriously injured 54-year-old man, who was taken to North Shore Hospital, where he is under guard.
The man, in addition to being charged with murder, also faces counts of kidnapping and injuring with intent to injure.
A special bedside court hearing was to have been held at the hospital today, but police said the hearing would now take place in North Shore District Court.
Police said they were not seeking anyone else in relation to the case.
