A man has been charged with causing the death of a Winton truck driver injured at a Christmas party in the town last year.
Robin Lloyd (50), a driver for Southern Transport Logging, received serious head injuries when he was struck by a vehicle at the company's Winton depot about 10.50pm on December 19.
He died in Dunedin Hospital 10 days later.
Sergeant Dave Kennelly, of Invercargill, said yesterday a man had been charged with driving with excess breath alcohol causing death and would appear in the Invercargill District Court on Tuesday.
He would not give any more details about the man, where he was from, or how he came to be at the party.
