KEY POINTS:
A Greymouth man charged with 23 counts of cheque fraud received a registrar's remand in Christchurch District Court today to allow him to apply for legal aid.
Euan John Laycock, 50, whose address was given in court documents as "no fixed abode - Greymouth", is charged with using documents - Westpac cheques - with intent to obtain a pecuniary advantage.
Laycock was remanded to appear again on March 4.
