A man alleged to have carried out three "brazen" bank robberies in the Auckland city centre has been arrested and charged by police.
The 31-year-old West Auckland man will appear in the Auckland District Court this afternoon charged with robbing the ANZ Karangahape Road branch on February 28, the Kiwibank Queen Street branch on March 3 and the Westpac Bank Karangahape Road branch yesterday.
All three robberies involved an unmasked man stealing cash after handing a teller a note saying he was armed.
The arrest came after police released security camera footage of the robbery at the Karangahape Rd branch of Westpac Bank yesterday morning.
Police described the robbery as brazen because the robber made no attempt to disguise himself.
