A man has been arrested and charged with assault after allegedly throwing mud at John Banks outside the Auckland High Court yesterday.
A police spokeswoman confirmed the 78-year-old was arrested today and would appear at the Auckland District Court today.
Banks was walking to Auckland High Court yesterday when a bucket of mud was thrown at him, hitting him on the face and arm.
The start of his trial on a charge of knowingly filing a false election return was delayed by 90 minutes while he returned home and changed his suit.
