A 22-year-old man has been charged with murder after a 20-year-old man was found dead north of Wellington early this morning - the second death in the area in just over a month.
Officers were called to the Kapiti Lights complex carpark in Paraparaumu about 12.40am and discovered Sean Strongman-Lintern dead at the scene.
Detective Senior Sergeant Mike Oxnam said it seems an altercation had taken place between Mr Strongman-Lintern and another man in the vicinity of the Monteiths Kapiti Junction bar, before police arrived.
"As a result of the post-mortem examination carried out this afternoon, Police are now seeking any information relating to a knife or similar item that may have been discarded in the Kapiti Lights area or along State Highway One south of Paraparaumu to Pukerua Bay," he added.
The arrested man will appear in the Porirua District Court on Monday.
