A Christchurch man has appeared in court charged with careless driving causing death following a car crash on March 5.
Kevin Peter Roadnight, 45, appeared in Christchurch District Court yesterday and pleaded not guilty to a charge of aggravated careless driving causing the death of Lincoln University lecturer Lynette Boddington.
He was remanded to reappear on November 9 for a pre-trial conference.
Ms Boddington, 50, died at the scene of the accident on the corner of Main North Road and Dickeys Road in the Christchurch suburb of Belfast when her car collided with a minivan carrying a group of girls from Amberley School.
Following the crash, police began a search for a man who drove a dark-coloured station wagon across the intersection at the time of the crash.
