Police have charged a 29-year-old man with driving dangerously causing death after a fatal vehicle crash near Herbert on Sunday.
Just after 5pm, police were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on State Highway 1, north of Herbert at Waianakarua.
A southbound Toyota car, which had overtaken other vehicles travelling south, collided with a number of northbound vehicles. This included a motorbike and two other cars. The sole rider of the motorbike died at the scene.
Two other people were injured.
The 29-year-old is due to appear in the Oamaru District Court on Tuesday.
