A man facing charges of bashing a teenager over a Facebook post has been granted name suppression.
The 40-year-old man, who lives in rural Masterton, appeared in Masterton District Court today charged with assault with intent to injure.
He did not enter a plea and was remanded on bail to reappear on Monday.
The man's lawyer, James Elliott, asked for interim name suppression for his client, a request granted by Registrar Mark Elliott.
The request was not contested by police prosecutor Senior Sergeant Garry Wilson.
