A man has appeared in a Bermuda court charged over the death of a Kiwi tourist who died in a boat accident during the America's Cup yacht races.
Christchurch grandmother Mary Elizabeth McKee, 62, died in the accident at Hamilton Harbour on June 1 this year. Her 69-year-old husband Arthur was seriously injured. Another British man was also injured.
Media on the small island territory are reporting that 26-year-old local man, Andrew Lake has appeared in court accused of killing McKee by driving a boat dangerously.
Lake is also charged with causing actual bodily harm to Arthur McKee and Charlie Watson, according to the Royal Gazette, Bermuda's only daily newspaper.
The case was adjourned without plea until December.
