A man in his sixties has been charged over an assault that's led to the death of a Rodney woman.
The charges relate to an alleged assault that took place on February 12 and led to police being called to an address in East Coast Rd, Redvale.
A woman, 53, was taken to Auckland Hospital with serious head injuries. She passed away the following day.
The man, 65, was also at the address at the time. He was arrested and charged with wounding causing grievous bodily harm.
Detective Senior Sergeant Kim Libby said it was possible the charge could be upgraded.
