A Macedonian man has been charged after a jewellers on Auckland's North Shore was robbed at gunpoint yesterday.
Vanco Bojcev, 44, appeared in North Shore District Court today facing three charges of burglary and one of aggravated robbery after the heist at the Takapuna Michael Hill Jewellers on Hurstmere Rd.
Detective Senior Sergeant Kim Libby said Bojcev, understood to be a Macedonian national, allegedly entered the shop about 4.30pm carrying a pistol and held three staff members, a man and two women, inside for about 15 minutes before fleeing with jewellery.
He was arrested a short time later.
None of the staff members were injured but they were shaken by the incident and had been referred to victim support, Mr Libby said.
