Police have charged the ute driver allegedly responsible for a hit-and-run crash with an ambulance in Waikato on Tuesday.
The ute appeared to lose control while cornering on Hinuera Road, south of Matamata about 5pm, police said.
It crossed the centre line and struck the left side of the ambulance
before continuing toward Matamata without stopping.
The ambulance, which had been transporting a patient with head injuries, was forced to stop after the impact which left it badly damaged.
Police said the ute and its driver were located following excellent information provided by the public.
The 29-year-old South Waikato man was charged with a number of driving offences after police spoke with him today.
He will appear in Morrinsville District Court on March 31.
