A 25-year-old Tauranga man has been charged with 139 counts of thefts from cars.
The man will appear in Tauranga District Court tomorrow and is also facing charges of burglary and possession of a weapon.
Police said the man was arrested after a Brookfield resident spotted suspicious activity about 3.30am on June 4. A police dog handler located the man shortly after. The arrested man was allegedly responsible for a significant increase in thefts from vehicles in recent months.
