Man charged after serious assault

A 46-year-old man has been charged with assault after another man was found unconscious on the driveway of his home in west Auckland yesterday.

A 49-year-old man was found with head injuries at the Great North Road, Glen Eden, property, at 7.30am. He is in a stable condition at Auckland Hospital.

Waitakere police have charged the 46-year-old man with assault and he was due to appear in Waitakere District Court today, Waitemata communications manager Kevin Loughlin said.

Police are continuing their investigation.
