An 18-year-old Taupo man has been charged in connection with a fatal crash near the town over Easter weekend.
The man will face one charge of dangerous driving causing death and one of dangerous driving causing injury when he appears before Taupo District Court next month.
Antony John King, 53, from Paraparaumu Beach, died when the Suzuki vehicle he was a passenger in and a BMW collided on State Highway Five in Wairakei on March 30.
The 54 year old driver of the Suzuki who was airlifted by helicopter to Waikato Hospital in a serious condition has since had his leg amputated as a result of his injuries.
