Man charged after chasing bin kickers with airgun

A Wellington man who allegedly chased youths with an airgun after they kicked over his rubbish bins has been charged.

Police said that the man grabbed the gun and ran after several youths in Johnsonville last night but no shots were fired.

"He'd had instances where the young kids were kicking over his rubbish bins and tagging his fence and the like," Sergeant Brett Couzens said.

The man will appear in court this week charged with presenting a firearm.
