A Masterton man who allegedly bit off a chunk of a man's ear has been charged by police.
Joshua Brace, 29, was charged with causing grievous bodily harm by disfiguring the man and appeared in Masterton District Court yesterday.
The incident happened on November 20 in Masterton and the man was taken to Wairarapa Hospital. Police believe both the defendant and the complainant were intoxicated at the time.
Defence lawyer Peter Stevens sought disclosure of police evidence from Judge Tony Walsh.
Judge Walsh remanded Brace in custody. Brace is due to reappear in court on December 18.
