A badly hurt man has been cut from his car and flown to Wellington Hospital following a crash with a horse float north of Wellington this morning.
The accident happened on State Highway 1 just south of Paraparaumu, 52km northeast of Wellington, about 9.20am.
The truck was by the side of the road loading four horses, stuff.co.nz reported. The horses were unharmed.
The man, in his 60s, suffered moderate to serious injuries and was flown by helicopter to Wellington Hospital, a St John spokeswoman said.
