KEY POINTS:
The man at the centre of the Auckland police chase which ended in the shooting of an innocent man has been released from hospital.
He is now in custody at the Henderson police station, where he will be formally interviewed about Friday's events.
Courier van driver Halatau Naitoko of Mangere, who was aged 17, was killed by a police bullet as shots were fired on the Northwestern Motorway, where the 40-minute chase ended.
The 50-year-old arrested man will appear in the Auckland District Court tomorrow.
He will face charges relating to a variety of alleged offences in several suburbs before the shooting.
