A man has been arrested over the violent assault on a 14-year-old girl at an Auckland park in February.
Police said a 21-year-old man would appear in Manukau District Court this afternoon charged with three offences over the February 14 attack on the waterfall track at Totara Park, Manurewa.
Two girls, one aged 14, the other 15, were walking on the track on the evening of February 14 when they noticed a man following them.
The man violently assaulted the younger girl as the other screamed for help.
He then threatened the girls, who ran away and found a couple walking their dog. The couple called police.
