A 28-year-old New Plymouth man has appeared in court over the vicious beating of a Taranaki taxi driver almost two weeks ago.
Tony Brosnan, 49, was beaten and left locked in the boot of his taxi, with severe head injuries. The Waitara father of two remains in hospital in a stable condition.
Detective Senior Sergeant Grant Coward said a man arrested in Auckland had appeared in North Shore District Court yesterday and remanded in custody.
