A man has been arrested following a serious assault in Tauranga in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The 18-year-old Mt Maunganui man was arrested today in connection to the Masonic Park assault, police said.
A vehicle used by the alleged attacker was also found, Detective Sergeant Darryl Brazier of Tauranga CIB, said.
The man was due to appear in Tauranga District Court on Thursday, June 4 on an assault-related charge, Mr Brazier said.
The 42-year-old victim remained in Waikato Hospital in a critical but stable condition.
