A man has been arrested in connection with an attack which left a Christchurch teenager with critical injuries two weeks ago.
The 18-year-old victim was found lying near a strip club in Chancery Lane around 7am, July 10.
Detective Sergeant Leairne Dow said no weapons were used during the assault but the youth suffered a fractured skull, bleeding to the brain and numerous facial fractures.
Police said a 30-year-old man would appear in Christchurch District Court this morning charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Ms Dow said the man was arrested last night after police interviews.
The youth, now 19, was still recovering at Christchurch Hospital but his condition was no longer considered serious.
