A 26-year-old man arrested for assaulting a woman at a Hamilton massage parlour was caught with a large sum of cash allegedly stolen from his employer.
Police were called to the central city massage parlour in the early hours of Monday last week.
Acting Detective Sergeant Daryl Smith of Hamilton police said a South Auckland man was arrested and charged with male assaults female in relation to the incident.
"When found he had a large sum of cash on his person which we established he had taken from his employer's premises the night before, and he has also been charged with burglary in relation to that matter," Mr Smith said.
The man was remanded in custody ahead of a bail hearing next month.
