A man has been arrested in relation to an alleged road-rage incident which saw a man hospitalised with serious injuries.
Waitemata East CIB Detective Sergeant James Bolton said the man had been arrested and charged with failing to stop to ascertain injury after the incident on Auckland's North Shore on Saturday night.
He said police received a number of calls from members of the public following the incident which took place on Albany Highway near Unsworth Heights, he said.
The day after the attack, Detective Senior Sergeant Kim Libby said the victim, 49, had allegedly been clinging to the car's bonnet after a dispute with another motorist.
Libby said it was believed both parties had pulled over on the side of Albany Highway between Unsworth Heights and Upper Harbour Drive and it appeared the victim had been carried on the bonnet of the offending vehicle and then run over by the car.
