An Auckland man has been arrested on multiple sex charges involving underage girls.
He has been granted name suppression by the North Shore District Court.
He entered no plea to the charges.
The man was arrested yesterday after an investigation into alleged sexual attacks on three girls two of whom are under 16 years of age.
Detective Senior Sergeant Kim Libby said the man appeared on six charges, including sexual violation by rape, sexual connection with girl under 16 years of age and sexual violation by unlawful sexual connection.
The maximum penalty for the two multiple offences is 20 years. The penalty for the sole charge is 10 years.
The man was remanded in custody until October 6 and may face further charges.
Mr Libby said the three victims knew the man.
