A 31-year-old man has been arrested after armed police were spotted manning a section of a busy street in Palmerston North.
Five armed police officers were on Ferguson St, between West St and Ngaio St this morning, looking for the man, who had a warrant to arrest.
He was taken into custody without incident, police said.
A police spokeswoman told the Herald earlier that police were in the process of trying to catch a criminal they'd been searching for.
"There's been no incident we've just received information there is a person wanted for arrest at a property."
