Man arrested for Hamilton gunpoint car theft

A 29-year-old man was arrested today for a gunpoint car theft in Hamilton.

The car was stolen on Friday last week, Detective Sergeant Terri Wilson said.

Police believe the man arrested was working alone.

He was found at a central Hamilton property and arrested without incident with the help of the Waikato armed offenders squad.

Police will remain at the address, searching and speaking to other occupants.

The man will appear in the Hamilton District court tomorrow morning on an aggravated robbery charge.
