A man who was at the centre of an Armed Offenders Squad callout at the weekend will appear in Tauranga District Court this afternoon.
A 36-year-old man appeared in court this morning and his case was deferred to later this afternoon after bail was opposed.
He is facing a charge of unlawful possession of a firearm.
A police spokeswoman said multiple guns were seized by police when they were called out to the Te Puna property on Saturday night to reports of a domestic incident.
When police and the Armed Offender Squad arrived they allegedly found several guns at the property, she said. No one was hurt.
