Police have arrested and charged a 19 year-old man for sexual offending against a 14 year-old girl he knew through a community organisation.
The alleged offending occurred three years ago at Te Kauwhata.
Detective Senior Sergeant Whitehead said the Police are investigating the possibility of further offending as the man has several employment and social roles that bring him into contact with young females in the northern Waikato.
The arrested man, who has interim name suppression, has appeared in Court and released on bail conditions that restrict him from having contact with females under 16 years of age. He has been bailed to an address outside of the Waikato and is banned from travelling to the Waikato except to attend Court.
Mr Whitehead said police are in the process of contacting each agency and social group concerned to ensure further offending is prevented and to identify any other potential offending.
