KEY POINTS:
An armed Napier man has been arrested after the attempted robbery of two dairies today.
Detective Sergeant Sean Hansen said the first attempted robbery occurred at 12pm today on the corner of Latham and Vigor Brown Streets.
The second occurred at 12.30pm at a dairy on the corner of Faraday and Thackeray Sts.
Last Friday morning a separate Napier dairy was robbed.
"Shortly after today's second attempt a 21-year-old man was arrested." Mr Hansen said.
Police found a knife on the man when he was arrested.
He will appear in the Napier District Court tomorrow charged with aggravated robbery and two counts of attempted aggravated robbery.
Napier police are asking for any witnesses to contact them.
