A man is due to appear in Auckland District Court today for assault after a stabbing that left another man in a serious but stable condition, police said.
The incident happened in the early hours of today in Kings Rd, in the east Auckland suburb of Panmure.
Police said the victim, 31, was taken to hospital with stab wounds.
They appealed for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
