KEY POINTS:
A man has been arrested after a stabbing in Palmerston North last night.
The 24-year-old victim is in a stable condition in Palmerston North Hospital and has yet to be interviewed by police.
Detective Sergeant Brett Calkin said police were called to a residential address in Carlisle St where they found the victim with multiple stab wounds.
A 54-year-old man was arrested at the scene and has been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. He is due to appear in Palmerston North District Court today.
Mr Calkin said the accused man was known to the victim and no one else was being sought in connection with the incident.
