A man who escaped custody from Tauranga District Court last month has been arrested in Northland.
Police said the 27-year-old man from Tauranga had pleaded guilty to one charge on July 9 when he leapt from the dock and ran from court staff.
Court security and police followed, but were unable to track him down. Several reported sightings sparked several unsuccessful searches in the area.
Police said the man had been found at a home in Northland, and was arrested without incident.
He will appear in Kaitaia District Court tomorrow.
