A man got more than expected when he walked into Timaru police station and demanded a ride home.
The Timaru Herald reported the 29-year-old Timaru man arrived at the police counter at 4am yesterday. He requested a taxi, and one was called for, but with a wait of an hour. So he then demanded the police give him a ride home.
After police refused to drop him off he started abusing members of the public who had come into the station.
He was ordered not to trespass at the station and after he refused to leave he was arrested for trespass and disorderly behaviour and locked up.
