Man arrested after climbing into ambulance

A man will face charges in court after he climbed into an ambulance at Auckland Hospital but was chased off by the ambulance crew.

St John said the man was sitting in the driver's seat when the crew returned to the ambulance and confronted him.

He walked up the road but was followed by paramedics, arrested by police and charged.

St John said the man did not start the ambulance.
