Man arrested after attempted abductions

A 20-year-old Masterton man has been arrested after a series of approaches towards young girls in the Wairarapa region.

The man appeared in Masterton District Court yesterday charged with attempted abduction of a girl on November 11 and the attempted abduction of another girl in February, The Dominion Post reported.

He was granted interim name suppression and remanded in custody to a future date.

Police said the the arrest followed an 18-month investigation into a string of incidents involving approaches toward girls on Wairarapa streets.
