A 37-year-old man was arrested after the Armed Offenders Squad was called to a domestic incident involving a Taser in Southland.
Around 7.45am, the Invercargill AOS squad was called out to an incident in which a woman had been assaulted.
A 12-year-old and a 10-year-old were present in the house at the time, police said.
The man was heavily intoxicated and was in possession of a Taser, however police said the weapon was not used on anyone.
Police said he was arrested at the scene after doing severe damage to the victim's vehicle and property.
