KEY POINTS:
A man has been arrested after a dispute between neighbours led to an armed offenders squad callout in north Taranaki this morning.
Detective Senior Sergeant Grant Coward said a middle-aged man called police this morning after a "volley of shots" was fired in the direction of his house on a farm 15km north of Waitara.
Police were called to the same address yesterday after a continuing dispute between two neighbours over a shared driveway and a 42-year-old man was arrested for threatening behaviour.
Mr Coward said the same man allegedly fired the shots at his neighbour this morning.
He has been arrested and was being interviewed by police.
Firearms charges were expected to be laid and the man will appear in New Plymouth District Court this afternoon.
The armed offenders squad was sent out after the neighbour called 111 and said shots had been fired.
They surrounded the 42-year-old man's house and he was "arrested without incident", Mr Coward said.
