A man has been arrested for allegedly assaulting ambulance staff and firefighters after a crash near Queenstown.
Police said the emergency services were called to the scene of the crash on State Highway 6 about 9.45pm on Wednesday.
It had occurred in the Kawerau Gorge, near Roaring Meg, in Queenstown.
One of the passengers, a 54-year-old man from Alexandra, received a suspected back injury and was flown to Dunedin Public Hospital. His injuries were not life-threatening, police said.
Another 54-year-old male passenger, who was not injured, was arrested when he allegedly assaulted ambulance staff and firefighters at the scene.
