A man arrested after a west Auckland domestic incident which resulted in six people being taken to hospital has appeared in court.
Kai-Ming Peng, 55, a citizen of China, entered no plea when he appeared in Waitakere District Court charged with a single count of assault.
Peng was arrested in the wake of the incident at Kingdale Rd, Henderson about 10pm on Saturday, where police found six adults with "assault-related injuries".
It was believed at least one had been stabbed.
Three of the injured were taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition. The other three were taken to hospital with moderate injuries.
Detective Sergeant Peter Litherland said it was understood all six were living at the address at the time of the assault.
Peng was remanded in custody and will reappear in Waitakere District Court for a plea inquiry on December 29.
