A man has appeared in court today over the death of a man found lying unconscious on a Tawa street last month.
Bruce Coker, 49, died from a head injury after he was found in Rossiter St, Tawa, on December 20.
A Porirua man aged 26, was arrested yesterday and charged with assault.
He appeared this morning in front of two Justices of the Peace in Porirua District Court, where he was granted interim name suppression.
The man did not enter a plea and was remanded in custody until next Tuesday.
