KEY POINTS:
A man and a woman have been charged with raping a teenage girl in Foxton last month.
Levin CIB Detective Sergeant Todd McLoughlin said today the alleged incident happened in the early hours of June 14.
Mr McLoughlin said the complainant, a 15-year-old girl, had been invited to her friend's partner's home for a party on Friday, June 13.
Early on Saturday morning she had been sleeping alone in a bedroom when she was attacked and raped.
Last Thursday police executed a search warrant at a Foxton house and arrested a 26-year-old local man. On Friday they arrested a Foxton woman, aged 18.
Mr McLoughlin said both had appeared in Levin District Court charged with rape of the teenager, and had been remanded on bail to reappear on August 6.
