Man airlifted to hospital after crash

A man had been airlifted to hospital after spending around two hours trapped in his crashed car down a bank.

The man suffered head and chest injuries in the crash, which occurred near Frasertown near Wairoa in Hawkes Bay.

He was found by a passing tractor driver. His condition was not immediately known.
